BIM Coordinator (or) Virtual Design & Construction Engineer   |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc., a premier preconstruction, general contracting and construction management firm, is seeking a BIM coordinator (or) virtual design & construction engineer to join our team.

This opening requires a minimum of three (3) years’ experience with BIM coordination of MEP systems in a commercial construction setting. A degree in Engineering or Architectural related field is preferred, but not required. Current BIM software experience and training is required.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop BIM company standards, policies, and processes.
  • Develop BIM Execution Plans and BIM work scopes for new projects.
  • Act as a BIM liaison between marketing, estimating, operations, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Develop 3D/BIM models including site logistics and simulations for presentations.
  • Create Federated Models using 3D models from consultants and/or subcontractors.
  • Lead BIM/MEP coordination meetings, clash detection, and resolution.
  • Participate in Request For Information (RFI) process.
  • Field verify MEP installations are per BIM models, contract drawings, and specifications.
  • Update models to As-Built condition.
  • Provide BIM coordination services across multiple projects at one time.
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCad, Navisworks, and BIM 360 Field software.
  • Work will be in office setting with regular field visits and construction site meetings.

Draftsman – Casework & Millwork Division   |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc.’s commercial casework division is rapidly growing and currently in need of a draftsman. This opening requires 3-5 years experience with AutoCAD preparing production drawings in a woodworking, casework, and millwork environment.

Candidates must possess the following requirements:

  • Knowledge in CAD or AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and field checks.
  • Understanding of build methods within casework and millwork industry.
  • Able to demonstrate skills in geometry.
  • Cabinet Vision or Alpha Cam knowledge/experience is a plus.
  • Microsoft OS Proficiency (XP, Vista, 7, 10, 365), Visual Basic (any other programming languages would be a bonus).

Education requirements are as follows:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates in or working towards Computer Science, Computer Aided Drafting, Communication or any other technical degree with a focus on Architecture or Drafting and Design.

The qualified individual will need to have the ability to work independently as well as a team player This is very fast pace work environment. The individual must be highly motivated with a positive attitude, dependable, flexible, and detail oriented. This is a full-time position with working hours of 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Additional hours may be required and hours may flex in order to facilitate project schedules. This position will be in our Oakdale location. This is an excellent opportunity to grow within an expanding division of a well-established company.

Estimator    |   Ft. Lauderdale

Rycon Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced estimator to join the Ft. Lauderdale team.

 

The position requires a minimum of three (3) years experience cost estimating commercial construction projects to include new/ground up construction, interior renovation/tenant improvement, and fit-out projects valued to $10 million. The successful candidate must be experienced in quantity take-offs, and have the ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications. Prior experience with multiple bid styles is desirable (lump sum, competitive bid, cost plus and negotiated/GMP). Computer skills are required in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) in addition to Microsoft Project and On-Screen Takeoff. Knowledge of the local south Florida market with proficiency in Spanish preferred, but not required.

Junior Estimator – Building Group   |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc., a premier preconstruction, general contracting and construction management firm, is seeking a junior estimator to join our Building Group.

The position requires a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a commercial construction setting paired with a degree in Architecture/Engineering/Construction Management or similar. Prior estimating experience is a preferred, but not required.

The successful candidate must have the ability to read architectural drawings and interpret specifications. Computer skills are required in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) with prior experience with estimating software a plus (Onscreen Takeoff, Planswift, etc.).


Project Engineer – Building Group   |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc. is seeking a project engineer to join our Building Group. Rycon's Building Group specializes in the ground up construction and renovation of large projects valued up to $100 million. This opening requires a minimum of two years experience in a commercial construction field paired with a degree in a construction management/engineering/architecture or a related field. LEED AP certification is preferred, but not required.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Working closely with project managers and superintendents on the day-to-day operations of construction sites
  • Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications
  • Working with submittals, RFI's and RFCO's
  • Assisting in contract buyouts
  • Working with architects, engineers and subcontractors
  • Developing project schedules and phasing plans
  • Attending and documenting project meetings

 

This is an immediate opening with the opportunity for advancement into a project manager role.

Project Manager   |   Cleveland

Rycon Construction Inc. is seeking an experienced project manager to join our Cleveland team.

POSITION GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The project manager is the administrative leader of the project, and is charged with the duties of organizing, planning, purchasing, and scheduling from project start-up through completion. The project manager may be assigned responsibility of one or more projects while looking to maximizing each projects profitability. The project manager will constantly solve problems and resolves issues through face-to-face and personal communication.

POSITION CHARACTERISTICS: This individual shall be forward thinking and energetic, have strong analytical ability, have high ethical standards, and have good communication skills. The project manager shall promote the company’s objectives and goals through the performance of his/her job, meeting quality and safety standards as well as meeting Owner expectations. The project manager is expected to assess and respond to customer needs and cultivate relationships through proactive interaction with project Owners.

Other requirements of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Three or more years in the role of a project manager.
  • Review and analyze drawings, specifications, contracts, and other documents.
  • Commercial construction experience including medical, retail, higher education, and multi-family.
  • Perform negotiating and awarding of subcontractors and vendors.
  • Review and prepare subcontractor agreements and material purchase orders.
  • Developing and maintaining schedules using Microsoft Project.
  • Conducting project meetings and preparing minutes.
  • Review/prepare change order requests.
  • Develop/track submittals.
  • Develop/track request for information.
  • Track/monitor/prepare cost reports.
  • Promote the growth and development of client and designer relationships.
  • Public and construction safety and security issues and regulations.
  • OSHA 10-Hour (minimum)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related area.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.

Senior Project Manager – Special Projects Group    |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc. is seeking a senior project manager to join our Special Projects team.

 

This opening requires a minimum of seven (7) years experience managing commercial construction projects preferably in the renovation and fit-out disciplines with values up to $5 million.


Other requirements of the position include, but are not limited to: understanding contracts, negotiating and writing subcontracts, attending project meetings and preparing minutes, review/prepare change order requests, develop/track submittals, develop/track request for information, prepare cost reports, maintain owner relations, marketing skills, presentation skills, computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Project, excellent organizational and communication skills. Some estimating experience is preferred.

Senior Estimator – Special Projects Group    |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction Inc. is seeking an experienced senior estimator to join our Special Projects Group. The position requires a minimum of seven (7) years experience estimating commercial interior renovation, tenant improvement, and/or fit-out projects up to $5 million. The successful candidate must be experienced in quantity take-offs and have the ability to read drawings and interpret specifications. Superintendent – Capital Projects   |  Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc., a premier preconstruction, general contracting, and construction management firm is seeking a capital projects superintendent to join our team.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of 15 years of experience in a superintendent role on multiple projects valued from $25M - $100M+ OR
  • Hold a Construction/Engineering/Architectural degree paired with 10+ years of experience on multiple projects valued from $25M - $100M+.

 

Other requirements of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Advanced knowledge of associated trades including site work, concrete, steel erection, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, finish trades, site layout including instrumentation, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, contracts, and specifications.
  • Knowledge on safety regulations, and enforcement of such.
  • Experience scheduling work, materials, manpower, subcontractors, and equipment.
  • Maintaining Owner and Architect relations.
  • Basic computer skills are required (Email, Microsoft Office, etc.) with prior scheduling software experience a plus.

The successful candidate will supervise the overall field operations of a capital project, while managing and coordinating the efforts of multiple superintendents under their direction.

Superintendent – Traveling   |   Pittsburgh

Rycon Construction, Inc. is seeking traveling superintendents to join our Pittsburgh team.

The successful candidates must be able to travel and manage out-of-town work. Experience in the retail/big box market a plus. This position requires a minimum of five (5) years construction supervisory experience in new construction and/or renovation/fit-out disciplines. Project values up to $10+ million are desirable. The applicant must have advanced knowledge of associated trades in all aspects of commercial construction. Must be able to read and interpret drawings, contracts and specifications. Knowledge of safety regulations is a must. The applicant must have experience scheduling work, materials, manpower, subcontractors and equipment. Basic computer skills are required (Outlook email, Microsoft Word, etc.).
