TODD A. DOMINICK, Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Dominick attended Carnegie Mellon University earning a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked as a project engineer, project manager, and estimator for 10 years before co-founding Rycon Construction in 1989 with Mr. William Taylor. As chief executive officer, Mr. Dominick played a large role in developing and shaping Rycon from a startup to a premier construction organization employing over 125 full-time office employees and successfully completing over $3 billion of work. Todd is a Licensed Professional Engineer, serves on the board of directors for the Master Builders' Association of Western PA, member of Carnegie Mellon University CEE Advisory Council, and is president of the General Contractors Association of PA.

JOHN W. SABATOS, President & Chief Operating Officer

After graduating from Penn State University with a degree in Civil Engineering and obtaining a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh, Mr. Sabatos began his career as a project engineer for a Baltimore contracting company. Eight years and two companies later as a project manager, Mr. Sabatos took on the role as a division manager for a regional grocer. He then transitioned to vice president of operations at Rycon for five years. Next, he operated as the senior vice president of construction at a national retail developer for five years where he was in charge of all construction in the United States and Puerto Rico before returning to Rycon as president and chief operations officer, replacing Mr. William Taylor after his retirement. His diverse background gives him a unique perspective with his 30+ years' of experience as a retailer, developer, and contractor. Mr. Sabatos is a LEED Accredited Professional, a member of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and serves as a board member for Three Rivers Youth.

WILLIAM J. TAYLOR, Co-Founder (Retired)

Mr. Taylor's career matches the storyline of a traditional American success story. He began early by gaining valuable training and experience from the Carpenter's Program then progressed rapidly by founding and managing his own residential building company. He went on to supervise the construction of many commercial projects, eventually heading up the Interiors Division of a commercial general contractor. From that contractor, he left with Mr. Todd Dominick to found Rycon Construction in 1989. Mr. Taylor instilled his relentless work ethic throughout the organization, thereby forging the foundations and culture of a well respected company with revenues well over $120 million under his leadership. He also created and developed a casework manufacturing operation within Rycon that today has annual revenues well in excess of $6 million. In 2011, after 22 years at the helm of Rycon, Mr. Taylor retired, but not before rehiring Mr. John Sabatos (formerly vice president of operations at Rycon) to fill his considerable presence and role as president and chief operating officer.


Pittsburgh Division

JAMES V. CELMO, Vice President of Field Operations

Mr. Celmo has been involved in the construction industry for 38+ years. After spending 12 years with a family-owned residential/commercial contracting business, he transitioned to Rycon in 1991 where he experienced numerous roles at ranging from superintendent, project manager, field operations manager, director of field operations to his current position, vice president of field operations. He is responsible for supervising superintendents, field staff, and warehouse operations. A memember of the Carpenters Union since 1991, Mr. Celmo continues to play a major role in safety, quality control, meeting scheduling requirements, and client satisfaction.

KEVIN P. CROUGH, Sr. Vice President of Preconstruction

Mr. Crough received a bachelor's degree from the School of Architecture at the University of Notre Dame as well as a master's degree from the School of Architecture from Catholic University of America. He has over 35 years' industry experience with more than 20 of them at Rycon fulfilling upper management roles: chief estimator, vice president of preconstruction, and currently senior vice president of preconstruction. He is responsible for overseeing the budgeting and estimating of all Building Group projects up to $150 million. Mr. Crough is a member of the Construction Management Association of America, serves as a board member for the School of Architecture at the Catholic University of America, and is a LEED Accredited Professional.

STEPHEN D. KOSMER, Sr. Vice President of Special Projects

Mr. Kosmer oversees the staffing, estimating, project management and administration of all construction projects within Rycon's Special Projects Group. Typically, his team completes small, fast-track, interior retrofits under $5 million, averaging $70 million per year. Over the past 28 years of Mr. Kosmer's career, he has held positions as an assistant project manager, project manager, and director of estimating enabling him to effectively manage all aspects of construction-related procedures.

DANIELLE MCCULLOUGH, Vice President, Casework & Millwork Division

Ms. McCullough joined Rycon's accounting department in 2000 for four years. After a brief hiatus to complete her accounting and business/management degree at Duquesne University, Danielle re-joined Rycon in 2009 as assistant controller. Over the course of her 15-plus-year career at Rycon, Danielle's role advanced to her current position as vice president of the Casework & Millwork Division which produces $6 million a year in revenues. She manages all aspects from consultation, design and drafting, to budgeting and estimation. Ms. McCullough oversees the Casework Division's operations at their new 30,000 sq. ft. facility in Oakldale, PA, near the Pittsburgh airport.

RONALD P. DEMAY, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Demay holds over 40 years of progressive accounting and financial experience in an industrial and public environment. His impressive background includes controllership function, financial reporting, treasury operations, corporate development, strategic planning and analysis, capital budgeting, risk management, and information technology. Mr. Demay attended Penn State University and the University of Pittsburgh where he earned bachelor and master's degrees. As chief financial officer of Rycon, Ron oversees all financial aspects of the company and maintains active involvement as a member of the Institute of Management Accounts.

LOU F. FERRARO, Sr. Vice President of Operations

Mr. Ferraro has 35+ years' construction industry experience. As senior vice president of construction, Mr. Ferraro is responsible for the general oversight of all Building Group projects (up to $150 million) and project managers within his division as well as the entire construction process and quality control. A Licensed Professional Engineer, he attended Penn State University and obtained a degree in Architectural/Engineering Construction Management.

MICHAEL L. PENROD, Vice President of Risk Management and Labor Operations

Mr. Penrod is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he earned a B.S. degree in Safety Science. Prior to joining Rycon in 2007, he held outside positions as a safety representative and safety/quality control manager. Mr. Penrod manages corporate safety, health, and environmental efforts from preconstruction through project completion. In addition, Mr. Penrod manages the risk control program and handles all insurance related legal matters. He has proudly served on the MBA Risk Management Committee since 2015. He also oversees Rycon's $25 million/year self-performed labor operation which includes demolition, framing, drywall, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, and concrete.


Atlanta Division

PAUL W. THOMANN, President, Atlanta Division

Mr. Thomann received a B.S. in Design, Construction & Planning from the University of Florida and has over 25 years' experience in the industry. He has a profound track record in leading several other construction companies through transitional, start-up and high growth stages to create market-driven, cost-effective operations. Mr. Thomann oversees the Atlanta team.

KEVIN AHRENS, Vice President, Atlanta Division

As a graduate of SUNY Erie, Mr. Ahrens began his career as an estimator, worked his way to vice president of a worldwide construction firm, and then ultimately landed at Rycon in 2014 as operations manager of the Special Projects Group in Pittsburgh. In 2017, he was promoted to vice president of the Atlanta Division. The role was created in response to the steady growth of work at the Atlanta office. With 20+ years' experience in the construction industry, Mr. Ahrens has been involved in over $600 million of work.


Cleveland Division

DAVID J. SEMLER, Vice President, Cleveland Division

Mr. Semler earned a degree in Architectural Engineering/Construction Management from the University of Toledo and has more than 30 years' experience. He oversees the Cleveland Division as vice president alongside Mr. Michael Harwood. His expertise in conceptual estimating has allowed innovative solutions for projects to be constructed. Prior to Rycon, Mr. Selmer was senior director of preconstruction for national retail developer where he was responsible for project budgets, coordinating architectural design, site planning efforts for redevelopments and new construction.

MICHAEL T. HARWOOD, Vice President, Cleveland Division

With more than 30 years' experience in the construction industry, Mr. Harwood began his career as an architectural designer, eventually working his way to the construction side as a project manager which lead to his role as senior director of construction with a prominent national retail developer. A graduate of Bowling Green State University, Mr. Harwood's strong expertise in retail, commercial, mixed-use, and hospitality brings added depth to the Rycon team. Along with Dave Semler, he oversees the Cleveland operations.


Ft. Lauderdale Division

KEVIN MONTEZ, President, Ft. Lauderdale Division

With more than 25 years' experience in the construction industry, Mr. Montez began his career working as a foreman gaining significant hands-on experience in every aspect of the construction business. He held various positions from field superintendent and project manager to division manager and vice president. Graduating from Florida State University with a dual bachelor in BFA and History, he went on to pursue a Master's in Construction Management from Florida International University. Throughout his career Mr. Montez has personally managed more than $200 million of commercial and retail construction and varying types of residential and mixed-use properties.

SIMON RODRIGUEZ, Executive Vice President, Ft. Lauderdale Division

Executive vice president, Mr. Simon Rodriguez, has an extensive background in retail and commercial construction in Florida and Puerto Rico. Mr. Rodriguez's strong expertise in retail, commercial, professional office campus, condo-conversion and tilt-up construction brings added depth to the company. He received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Florida International University and brings more than 20 years of construction experience and excellence to Rycon.

MIKE UHRE, Vice President of Construction

Mr. Uhre's career began in 1979 as a project manager involved in estimating. He has held various positions in the industry, from senior project manager, general manager, to vice president. For ten years, he was the principal and director of operations for Capital Builders Group, which he formed in 2003. Mike has a portfolio that includes residential, commercial, office, warehouse, retail, and restaurant construction project types.


Philadelphia Division

EDWARD SZWARC, Executive Vice President, Philadelphia Division

Mr. Edward Szwarc earned a degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and began his career in 1976. He brings 40 years of experience to Rycon along with his expertise and key skills in operations, business development, client relationships, and leadership development. Ed has held various roles in the construction industry throughout his career including plant engineer, general manager, MEP manager, project director, senior vice president, and executive vice president. His valuable and extensive experience includes work in the health care, life sciences, higher education, corporate, and industrial markets.
