What you will do:

Administrative Assistant – Casework & Millwork Division   |   Pittsburgh

We are seeking an experienced administrative assistant for our Casework & Millwork Division in Oakdale, PA.

 

What you will do:

  • Provide administrative support for project managers and estimating.
  • Type, develop and track all purchase orders/contracts/change orders.
  • Maintain filing system.
  • Assist in closing out projects.
  • Calling suppliers to locate materials.
  • Soliciting bids from subcontractors and suppliers for pricing.
  • Update bid list.
  • Download and organize drawings for new estimates.
  • Maintain master supplier subcontractor list.
  • Data entry.
  • Updating Excel spreadsheets and tables in Access.

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • Minimum of two (2) years' recent office experience.

Assistant Project Manager   |   Atlanta

Rycon Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced assistant project manager at our Atlanta office.

 

What you will do:

  • Reading of documents and contracts.
  • Writing subcontracts.
  • Negotiating and awarding subcontracts.
  • Reviewing/preparing subcontractors scope of work.
  • Develop and maintain schedules using Microsoft Project.
  • Attend meetings and prepare minutes.
  • Review/prepare change orders.
  • Develop/track submittals, RFI's and cost reports.
  • Maintain owner relations.

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience managing multiple retail commercial construction projects valued at $5 million and up.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to direct complex projects from concept to fully operational status.

Cabinetmakers – Casework & Millwork Division   |   Pittsburgh

We are seeking cabinetmaker at our Casework & Millwork Division located in Oakdale, PA.

 

What you will do:

  • Cut, shape and assemble wooden, laminate and solid surface articles.
  • Set up and operate a variety of woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers and mortises to surface, cut or shape lumber.

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • Five (5) years' experience in laminate countertop, countertop construction, solid surface countertops, low wall construction, wood veneer items, etc. Finishing experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.
  • The ability to be self-directed and perform all aspects of casework and millwork construction.

Draftsman – Casework & Millwork Division   |   Pittsburgh

We are seeking an experienced draftsman at our Casework & Millwork Division located in Oakdale, PA.

 

What you will do:

  • Create custom millwork and production drawings.
  • Work with project manager to review shop drawings and shop manager to review programmed casework.
  • Develop an understanding of shop practices, build methods and proper millwork standards to implement in production drawings.

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • Experience or knowledge of the casework/millwork industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
  • Cabinet Vision or Alpha Cam knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge in CAD or AutoCAD software.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Ability to demonstrate skills in geometry.

Estimator    |   Philadephia

We are seeking an experienced construction estimator at our Philadelphia office..

 

What you will do:

  • Calculate quantities and costs of construction items for estimating projects.
  • Research material, labor, and equipment pricing for cost estimating projects.
  • Participate in gathering of data to support market condition research, inclusive of but not limited to: construction economics, trends, current projects, contractor's availability and skill sets, labor force, and other miscellaneous contributions on aspects of construction.
  • Enter calculated and researched data into specific cost estimating software programs.
  • Assist in developing the scope of work of multiple trades to ensure the entire scope of the project is bought out for the project team.
  • Assist the estimating team with data conversions and analysis of cost estimating efforts.
  • Respond to common inquiries or issues from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business and general community at large.

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience estimating the construction and renovation of larger commercial and institutional buildings.
  • Must be experienced in quantity take-offs.

Marketing Manager    |   Pittsburgh

We are seeking an experienced marketing manager at our Pittsburgh office.

What you will do:

  • Strategic management of marketing team and efforts for Rycon's five offices including Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Cleveland, Ft. Lauderdale, and Philadelphia.
  • Manage, as well as produce, client deliverables including the facilitation and production of proposals, presentations, and statements of qualifications.
  • Day-to-day management of the marketing team including workload assignment, establishing goals and development plans, and management of short-term and long-term goals.
  • Developing a high-performance marketing team through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Collaboration with operations and business development to identify best opportunities.
  • Maintenance and improvement of brand recognition.
  • Print advertisement design.
  • Oversight of company-related and client-related events.
  • Enhancement and maintenance of company website.
  • Actively promoting Rycon Construction within the industry through networking.
  • Acts as project manager of proposal efforts including: lead kick off meeting to define expectations, identify tasks and assign responsibilities, and develop production schedule, assist technical capture manager in developing win themes, complete tasks and assigned responsibilities, and adhere to proposal schedule, draft/edit text, schedule reviews, final submittal production, and delivery.
  • Writing and editing of resumes and project descriptions, the development and maintenance of proposal materials, research, and other miscellaneous coordination, uses internal database information to support proposal efforts.
  • Should be curious, analytical, knowledgeable about current marketing disciplines and insightful about consumer behavior.
  • Although creative skills are not a requirement, a taste for good design and experience managing creative minds are both required abilities.
  • Collaboration e with various construction teams within Rycon and outside consultants to create compelling, bold, innovative, and accurate RFP and presentation strategies.
  • Participates in business development and strategy meetings as needed, supporting development of content for proposals, and creating marketing collateral.

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • B.S. Marketing or related degree is preferred, but not required.
  • 7+ years marketing experience preferably in the A/E/C industry.
  • Must have advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Dreamweaver, Acrobat) and or other pertinent software programs. Working knowledge of construction scheduling software.
  • Photography and photo editing knowledge.
  • Must be flexible, able to work under pressure continuously meeting project deadlines.
  • High level of design sensibility and graphics capabilities.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent skills in time management, organizing, writing, proofreading, and editing.
  • Strong set of personal and business values which complement the firmís core values.
  • High energy and self-directed.
  • Proven track record of success in marketing roles.

We are seeking an experienced preconstruction manager for our Building Group at our Pittsburgh office.

What you will do:

  • Management of all project stakeholders (owner, architect, engineers, subcontractors) from concept design through construction documents.
  • Develop risk assessments based on project specific information.
  • Develop conceptual estimates utilizing market data.
  • Perform value engineering tasks.
  • Perform constructability reviews, generate RFIs and qualifications.

  • Attend meetings and prepare minutes.
  • Reviewing/preparing subcontractors scope of work.
  • Developing and maintaining schedules using Microsoft Project.
  • Review/prepare change orders.
  • Develop/track submittals, RFI's, and cost reports.
  • Maintain owner relations

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years' experience in construction managing commercial construction projects preferably in the renovation and fit-out disciplines with values up to $5 million.
  • Ideal candidate should have a wide breadth of commercial construction experience from health care to retail.
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Must have the ability to direct complex projects from concept to fully operational status.
  • Marketing and presentation skills.
  • Computer Skills Required: Microsoft Project, Plangrid and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to create material take-off's.
  • Should be highly organized, highly motivated and a detail directed problem solver.
  • Some estimating experience is preferred, but not required.
  • College degree in a construction/engineering field preferred, but not required.

Superintendent   |   Atlanta

We are seeking an experienced superintendent at our Atlanta office.

What you will do:

  • Prepare and communicate project schedule to plan upcoming activities and stay on target. Provides ongoing scheduling input to project management staff for all scheduling efforts.
  • Coordinates the daily activities for all subcontractors at any stage of construction. Completes all project construction in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
  • Manages construction budgets set by the project manager, tracking construction costs, and submitting all invoices to accounting in a timely manner.
  • Prepares daily log reports for the site conditions, manpower and activities in sufficient detail.
  • Ensures all parties follow all safety procedures and practices according to both OSHA and company requirements.
  • Conducts pre-installation safety evaluations and action plans with contractors to ensure work actives are conducted in the safest manner possible.
  • Ensures appropriate machinery and tools are available to assigned construction workers and that hand tools and power tools are in proper working order.
  • Schedules and participates in necessary inspections required by local and state regulations. Organizes final inspections for completed work.
  • Monitors daily construction procedures to make sure that proper quality is achieved.
  • Maintains consistent daily communication with project management staff to ensure all parties are informed of current project status and potential issues affecting progress.
  • Respond to onsite incidents and emergencies per company procedures.

  • Advanced knowledge of associated trades including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drywall, finish trades, layout, etc.
  • The ability to read and interpret drawings, contracts and specifications.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and enforcement of such.
  • Experience scheduling work, materials, manpower, subcontractors and equipment.
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), prior experience with scheduling software is a plus.
