PITTSBURGH

Proposal Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced proposal coordinator at our Pittsburgh office.

What you will do:

  • Produce and accurately assemble proposals, presentations, and statements of qualifications including AIA A305.
  • Lead kickoff meetings, identify tasks, assign responsibilities, and develop a production schedule.
  • Assist with the completion of tasks, adhering to proposal schedule, drafting/editing text, scheduling reviews, final submittal production, and delivery.
  • Demonstrate ability to write, edit, and communicate in a clear and compelling manner with a strong command of English grammar, AEC technical language, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to correlate language, graphics, and proposal layout to effectively communicate approach to technical RFP responses.
  • Collaboration with various internal Rycon teams throughout all five offices (Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Cleveland, Ft. Lauderdale and Philadelphia) as well as outside consultants to create compelling, bold, innovative and accurate proposal and presentation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain proposal materials, research and other miscellaneous coordination including the use of internal database information to support proposal compilation.
  • Writing and editing company personnel resumes.
  • Maintenance of company brand throughout all documents.
  • Collaboration with operations and business development to identify best opportunities to promote Rycon Construction for potential project and client opportunities.
  • Lead and/or assist in the creation and execution of graphics for various marketing materials and presentations.
  • Lead and/or assist marketing team with various tasks such as social media updates, newsletter, event planning, signage, project portfolio descriptions, etc.
  • Actively promote Rycon within the industry through networking as well as company and industry events.

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • Three (3)+ years' marketing experience preferably in the architecture, engineering and/or construction industry.
  • Must have advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Lightroom, Dreamweaver and/or other pertinent software programs is preferred, but not required.
  • Technical writing experience strongly desired.
  • Experience producing and assembling proposals and presentations.
  • Working knowledge of construction scheduling software is a plus.
  • Photography and photo editing knowledge.
  • Flexibility and able to work under pressure continuously meeting project deadlines.
  • High level of design sensibility and graphics capabilities.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent skills in time management, organizing, writing, proofreading and editing.
  • Strong set of personal and business values, high energy and self-directed.
  • Proven track record of success in marketing roles.
  • CRM software experience is a plus, but not necessary.

PITTSBURGH - CASEWORK & MILLWORK DIVISION

Cabinetmakers

We are seeking cabinetmaker at our Casework & Millwork Division located in Oakdale, PA.

 

What you will do:

  • Cut, shape and assemble wooden, laminate and solid surface articles.
  • Set up and operate a variety of woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers and mortises to surface, cut or shape lumber.

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • Five (5) years' experience in laminate countertop, countertop construction, solid surface countertops, low wall construction, wood veneer items, etc. Finishing experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.
  • The ability to be self-directed and perform all aspects of casework and millwork construction.

CNC Programmer

We are seeking a CNC programmer for our rapidly growing Casework & Millwork Division located in Oakdale, PA.

 

What you will do:

  • Program, set up and operate CNC equipment.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Reviewing shop drawings.

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience working in a woodworking casework and millwork environment.
  • Must have the ability to read drawings and interpret specifications.
  • Understanding of build methods within the casework and millwork industry.
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), AutoCAD, Alphacam, ProjectPAK, Cabinet Vision, Visual Basic (any other programming languages would be a bonus).
  • Be motivated and self-driven while progressing in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work well in an office and shop environment.
  • Be highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Associates Degree in or working towards Computer Science, Computer Aided Drafting, Communication or any other technical degree with a focus on Architecture or Drafting Design.

Draftsman

We are seeking a draftsman for our rapidly growing Casework & Millwork Division located in Oakdale, PA.

 

What you will do:

  • Create custom millwork and production drawings.
  • Work with project manager to review shop drawings and shop manager to review programmed casework.
  • Develop an understanding of shop practices, build methods and proper millwork standards to implement in production drawings.

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • Experience or knowledge of the casework/millwork industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
  • Cabinet Vision or Alphacam knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge in CAD or AutoCAD software.
  • Microsoft office proficiency.

Estimator

We are seeking an estimator for our rapidly growing Casework & Millwork Division located in Oakdale, PA.

 

What you will do:

  • Translate architectural drawings to perform detailed take-offs and itemized lists of materials.
  • Create detailed scopes of work based on architectural drawings or narratives.
  • Acquire unit pricing and quotes for varying types of materials for each project.
  • Work with subcontractors to determine install and subcontracted work and associated costs.
  • Interpret division 06400 specifications (and associated) for compliance and build standards.
  • Develop written proposals and pricing for review and possible presentation.
  • Travel to jobsites to develop/determine scope required to meet clients’ needs.

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience estimating casework and millwork up to $1 million.
  • Must have the ability to read drawings and interpret specifications.
  • Analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), digitized blueprint software.

  • Assist in the scope of work of multiple trades to ensure nothing is missed for the project team.

Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced superintendent at our Atlanta office.

What you will do:

  • Prepare and communicate project schedule to plan upcoming activities and stay on target. Provides ongoing scheduling input to project management staff for all scheduling efforts.
  • Coordinates the daily activities for all subcontractors at any stage of construction. Completes all project construction in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
  • Manages construction budgets set by the project manager, tracking construction costs, and submitting all invoices to accounting in a timely manner.
  • Prepares daily log reports for the site conditions, manpower and activities in sufficient detail.
  • Ensures all parties follow all safety procedures and practices according to both OSHA and company requirements.
  • Conducts pre-installation safety evaluations and action plans with contractors to ensure work actives are conducted in the safest manner possible.
  • Ensures appropriate machinery and tools are available to assigned construction workers and that hand tools and power tools are in proper working order.
  • Schedules and participates in necessary inspections required by local and state regulations. Organizes final inspections for completed work.
  • Monitors daily construction procedures to make sure that proper quality is achieved.
  • Maintains consistent daily communication with project management staff to ensure all parties are informed of current project status and potential issues affecting progress.
  • Respond to onsite incidents and emergencies per company procedures.

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • Minimum of five (5) years' construction supervisory experience in commercial construction.
  • Project values up to $5 million+ are desirable.
  • Advanced knowledge of associated trades including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drywall, finish trades, layout, etc.
  • The ability to read and interpret drawings, contracts and specifications.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and enforcement of such.
  • Experience scheduling work, materials, manpower, subcontractors and equipment.
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), prior experience with scheduling software is a plus.

FT. LAUDERDALE

Estimator

We are seeking an experienced construction estimator at our Ft. Lauderdale office..

 

What you will do:

  • Receive and review client RFP's.
  • Prepare bid documents and subcontractor ITB's.
  • Review and scope drawings, specifications and project manuals.
  • Prepare detailed and job-specific scopes of work.
  • Procure, scope and file subcontractor proposals.
  • Provide value engineering.
  • Prepare project estimates and budgets.
  • Prepare project schedules.
  • Assist during contract negotiation.
  • Attend and document project site visits and walk-throughs.
  • Assist the project management team as it relates to pricing changes, owner/subcontractor change orders and scope concerns.

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience estimating commercial construction projects to include commercial new/ground up construction, interior renovation/tenant improvement and fit-out projects up to $10 million.
  • Must be experienced in quantity take-offs.
  • Must have the ability to read drawings and interpret specifications.
  • Prior experience with multiple bid styles (Lump Sum, Competitive Bid, Cost Plus and Negotiated/GMP) is desirable.
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), PlanSwift.
  • Knowledge of the Florida market is preferred, but not required.
  • Bilingual is preferred, but not required.
  • BCCE/construction management preferred, but not required.

Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced superintendent at our Ft. Lauderdale office.

What you will do:

  • Prepare and communicate project schedule to plan upcoming activities and stay on target. Provides ongoing scheduling input to Project Management staff for all scheduling efforts.
  • Coordinates the daily activities for all subcontractors at any stage of construction. Completes all project construction in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
  • Manages construction budgets set by the project manager, tracking construction costs, and submitting all invoices to accounting in a timely manner.
  • Prepares daily log reports for the site conditions, manpower and activities in sufficient detail.
  • Ensures all parties follow all safety procedures and practices according to both OSHA and company requirements.
  • Conducts pre-installation safety evaluations and action plans with contractors to ensure work actives are conducted in the safest manner possible.
  • Ensures appropriate machinery and tools are available to assigned construction workers and that hand tools and power tools are in proper working order.
  • Schedules and participates in necessary inspections required by local and state regulations. Organizes final inspections for completed work.
  • Monitors daily construction procedures to make sure that proper quality is achieved.
  • Maintains consistent daily communication with project management staff to ensure all parties are informed of current project status and potential issues affecting progress.
  • Respond to onsite incidents and emergencies per company procedures.

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • Minimum of five (5) years' construction supervisory experience in commercial construction.
  • Project values up to $5 million+ are desirable.
  • Advanced knowledge of associated trades including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drywall, finish trades, layout, etc.
  • The ability to read and interpret drawings, contracts and specifications.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and enforcement of such.
  • Experience scheduling work, materials, manpower, subcontractors and equipment.
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), prior experience with scheduling software is a plus.
